The specialists in the packaging field offer personalised technical assistance to companies (mainly SMEs) for the resolution of problems on the choice of materials, raw materials, processes, production methods, waste problems, etc.
CELABOR’s packaging department offers a wide range of tests and analyses and relevant help with technical developments of new products. To this end, CELABOR has many technologically advanced devices. To optimise a product, tests are regularly carried out on a company’s premises with the department’s equipment. Lastly, the centre offers you a legislative and standards watch service (food contact, packaging waste, etc.)
In the field of Packaging, like in its other departments, CELABOR is positioned as the only centre in Wallonia so close to the end users! !

Private Development and Research
- Development of packaging/food pair with the aim of increasing the shelf life of an agri-food product (in synergy with the agri-food department)
- Custom development of methods of characterisation of packaging materials and packaging
- Search for and optimisation of innovative packaging (active, made from renewable resources, biodegradable, etc.)
- Creation, design and realisation of packaging (prototypes and small series) through a computer assisted cutting table
Collective Research Projects
The packaging department is working over several areas of research in the context of its projects :
- Safety of food packaging
- Improvement in preservation and protection of foods in packaging
- Wedging materials from agri-resources
- Development of new packaging: active packaging, packaging based on organically sourced materials (PLA, etc.)
Latest equipment
Sealing machine, thermoforming machine, gas mixer, vacuum welder, etc. form part of CELABOR’s fleet of machines and are used to realise your packaging projects, in the laboratory or on site.
