ENVIRONMENT
The environment department offers a set of skills in the specific fields of water and solid waste, and also technical and scientific support for the research and development of technologies and/or products.
CELABOR is a laboratory approved by the Walloon Region for drawing up an assessment of your waste on your production site(s), and for the analysis of water and waste. To successfully conduct its missions, the CELABOR laboratory is equipped with the latest equipment and is able to offer you custom solutions in the development of highly reliable specific analysis methods.

Analyses and Expertise
- Sampling on site before analysis
- Conducting routine analyses on different matrices (sludge, water, etc.): heavy metals, HAP, PCB, hydrocarbons, DCO, DBO, nitrogen, etc...
- Expert appraisal and advice for the preparation of water for industrial use, purification of wastewater and reclamation of solid waste
- Laboratory approved by the Walloon Region to draw up an assessment of your waste on your production site, analysis of water and waste :
- analysis of the taxation or effluent disposal parameters
- analyses of sludge, compost and other spreadable solid waste before reclamation
- Verification of the biodegradability of solid products using a custom facility in compliance with European standard EN 13432
- Legislative and administrative advice for all your applications: environmental permit, integrated survey of the Walloon Region, etc...
Collective Research Projects
- Devising of new methods of wastewater treatment: oxidation of pollutants, use of algae, etc...
- Guidance to companies in the implementation of environmental technologies concerning soil and water pollution, and the management of contaminated soils
Private Research and Development
- Proposal of custom solutions in the development of specific methods of analysis through the latest equipment :
- HPLC with different types of sensor (UV/visible, ELSD, fluorescence)
- GC-MS enabling traditional liquid injection but also headspace and SPME
- Optical ICP and ICP/MS for inorganic chemistry determinations (metals, etc.)
- Devising of purification processes for industrial effluents through different techniques
- waste and sludge reclamation study
- evaluation of purification plants
- Development of products through a wastewater purification system test platform up to a capacity of 50 inhabitant equivalent, which makes it possible to obtain the EC label on individual purification plants in accordance with standard EN 12566-3
- Technical and scientific support in the research and development of technologies and/or products :
- Definition of the project, writing and technical realisation
- Search for subsidies and/or financing within the framework of Walloon or European projects
- Major partnership in the Walloon waste cluster which groups together industrial firms seeking to offer innovative solutions in the reclamation of waste
- Realisation of life cycle analyses (LCA) in accordance with ISO 14040, ISO 14044 and ISO 14047 using the SimaPro software connected to international databanks.
Training
CELABOR’s environmental department offers training in the fields of water purification and waste management, in close collaboration with the “Polygone de l’Eau” (Verviers).
